Student town of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University
The student town, as a structural unit, has been functioning since 1993. Its first director was Hryhoriy Yukhimovych Tkachuk. Currently, the student campus is headed by Svitlana Volodymyrivna Shevchuk. The staff of the campus includes an engineer.
The structure of the student campus includes dormitories, the number of employees of which is determined by the staff list. The management of the student campus is carried out by the directorate, which outlines the directions of economic and social development, conducts educational work with students, manages all its activities, and resolves the issue of improving the material and technical base.
A fruitful educational process is impossible without well-organized work and rest of students. All the conditions have been created for this at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. Students spend most of the day in reading rooms, mini-gyms, and student council rooms located in the university dormitories, subordinate to the campus.
Dormitories, of which there are five at the university, are provided with the necessary conditions for living, recreation, educational work and health improvement. The internal rules in the dormitories are established by the rules drawn up by the university administration, agreed with the students' trade union committee and approved by the rector of Lesya Ukrainka University. Student councils have been created to help organize educational work, maintain internal routines, and organize leisure activities for students living in each dormitory. Each dormitory has rooms of the student council, with all conditions for work.
Student dormitories are headed by dormitory managers. One of the oldest is hostel No. 2 (the head of the hostel is Svitlana Viktorivna Yaroshchenko). It was commissioned in 1964. About 270 students of the Faculty of Culture and Arts, Faculty of Geography, Faculty of Biology and Forestry and Faculty of Chemistry and Ecology live here.
Korytnyuk Svitlana Viktorivna is the manager of dormitory No. 3. Since 1975, about 320 students of the faculties of information technology and mathematics, the educational and scientific institute of physics and technology and physical culture, sports and health, and the medical faculty have lived there every year.
Dormitory No. 4 was put into operation in 1982 (the head of the dormitory was Oksana Hryhorivna Shisyts). Every year, 640 students of the faculties of foreign philology, international relations, pedagogical education and social work, faculties of history, political science and national security, law, psychology settle in this dormitory.
Dormitory No. 6, headed by Lyudmila Ivanovna Tananayka, is one of the newest. It was commissioned in 1989. About 300 students and student families of the faculties of economics and management live in it; of philology and journalism, as well as families of university employees.
In each dormitory of the university, rooms of the student council have been created for students, and partly rooms for self-training, gyms, where students can work and rest in their free time. Dormitory No. 4 has an assembly hall.
The university administration constantly takes care of the working conditions, life and leisure of students, makes sure that the years of study at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University remain for them the most pleasant memories for the rest of their lives.
