Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University (LUVNU) is launching a partnership project of social action Strengthening Mental Health in Students Under Forced Social Isolation During Pandemic. The project coordinators are clinical psychologists Larysa Zasiekina and Tetiana Hordovska from the Ukrainian Psychotrauma Center at LUVNU.
The project is to be implemented in close partnership with Ivan Ohiyenko Kamyanets-Podilskyi National University, Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University and Zaporizhia National University. The project is funded by the British Council in Ukraine.
The main goal of the project is to establish the features of emotional distress of students in conditions of forced isolation and distant learning during pandemics, as well as to develop and implement a programme of self-diagnosis and self-aid with a designed app to provide psychological assistance to students.
The Department of Family, Youth and Sport of the Lutsk City Council, Volyn Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education and Lutsk Pedagogical College will support the project at the implementation stage.
Among the most important outcomes of the project at the global level is the involvement of public opinion on negative psychological effects of forced social isolation on students in terms of distant and blended learning.
